December EC Droppers

It has been more than 2 weeks since I last posted an article here on my blog. I do not know why but I am not just in the mood... I saw the contents of the site of other bloggers and they seemed very joyous of the holidays. I was happy also but it was just another day for me.

I spent Christmas with my son and the four corners of the home. And at 12am, It will be 2009. I will still be spending it with my son. I have so many things to be thankful for 2008. For one, my son is growing up to be a fine man, I met blogger friends, who unselfishly helped me, although they have never met me personally. And I thank my parents who love me and my son very much.

I have not been regularly dropping EC, but there are people who still droppped EC on my blog religiously. I thank you very much.

For those people who do not know, every New Year celebration here in Manila, especially at 12am, it is like you are in a war zone in Iraq. I guess that is one of the events Filipinos abroad miss so much.

At 12am, Filipinos are on the streets, lighting firecrackers. The firecrackers are so powerful that it could even blow up a person's hand. I suggest you watch news of how the Filipinos celebrate and you will see that it is very bloody literally.

In the Chinese calendar, 2009 is the year of the Ox. And I was born in the year of the OX. I hope and pray that 2009 will be a great year for all of us.

Igorot Dance

It seems like the Igorot is the only ethnic tribe in the Philippines that have retained their tradition and culture.

Thank You, Ahnya

Thank you for the friendship you bestow on me. I do not know how long your friendship for me would last but one thing is for sure and that is I would never ever forget you. You helped me dream again. You made me a better person. Maybe you do not know it but you have a huge impact on me. I am amazed of your achievements and I want to be like you.

Thanks for not leaving me at the lowest ebb of my life. I will be forever grateful of your goodness to me. You never asked for anything in return and I am blessed to have known and met you. I may not have many true friends but you are enough. I believe that I may not be special to you but that is okay. You inspire me to achieve great things.

Thanks for making me smile and making me look forward to tomorrow. You may think that I am so pathetic because I am too shallow but I must admit I am a really shallow person. You are a very strong individual and I want to imbibe your strength. I do not want to be your friend because you are rich. You can keep everything you have. All I want is your friendship. For me, you are a star. If one day, the star would lose its brightness, it will never be forgotten. It is forever etched in my heart.

Filipino Ancestors II

2. In 3000BC, after the Negritos came to the Philippines, the Indones arrived.
The Indones are like 4inches taller than the Negritos. They have straight black hairs and their skins are lighter than the Negritos. The new settlers brought with them polished stone tools, boat building, bark and animal skin cloth making, pottery, rice planting, the process of cooking food in bamboo tubes, and the techniques of making fire by rubbing two sticks together.

The Negritos, who lived by hunting using bow and arrows, begun to move out of caves and settled in a scattered manner along the coasts and rivers. The Negritos still exist in the Philippines today, but sadly, they are now less than 500. They do not have lands to call their own. During Christmas time, they go to Manila and go from houses to houses to ask for gifts. The Philippine government has neglected them, whether they admit it or not.

3. In 1000BC, the third set of people who arrived in the archipelago is the Malay immigrants. They crossed the sea using small boats called balanggay or baranggay. Up to now, a small unit in our community is called a baranggay.

Wave after wave of immigrants arrived in the Philippines and they are the Ifugao, Bontoc, Mangyans, Tasadays and other primitive tribes.

Bontocs

Mangyans in Mindoro

Badjaos

Tasadays in Cotabato

The racial stock of majority of today’s Philippine populace is the civilized Malays. Didn't you notice the physical resemblance of the Thais, Malaysians, Filipinos and Indonesians? I guess the only major difference is our noses. The Filipinos’ noses are either flat or wide or both! Hahahaha. When a Filipino baby is born, the first part of the face that parents check is the nose.

If you have noticed, there are many diverse indigenous tribes living in the Philippines but each tribe is diminishing in numbers. Not many of them have a decent place to live in and their kids do not want to continue with their tradition.

Oscar dela Hoya vs Manny Pacquiao - Dream Match

The Dela Hoya Vs. Pacquiao Dream Match is a very much anticipated event that sports enthusiasts are waiting for.

People say that this boxing event is a dream match because the 2 boxers who will fight for prestige are the best of the best.

Many are sharing their forecasts in this fight. Many are saying that the Golden Boy will win due to his height and reach. He is also more experienced than Pacman. On the other hand, some people believe that Pacman is the underdog in the fight but he could win due to his swiftiness, eagerness and zealousness to win the title.

The Golden boy has all the advantage to win the match on Saturday. But, the Filipinos are hoping that this dream match would not end as a nightmare for Pacman.

In an interview with Dela Hoya, he said that Pacman just punches without analyzing his opponent, but he said he is different because he thinks. It was as if dela Hoya was telling that Pacman was all meat and bones but no brain hahahaha. Did Dela Hoya think first before he wore those fishnets and heels and posed for a photo?

I love the legs of the Golden Boy. Very sexy!

Nice Behind!

Who is your Daddy now?

I don't know why but I have this thing for guys who wear sexy items of women.

I am a Filipino and I am impressed with Pacquiao but I think Dela Hoya will win. Beating him is next to impossible. Pacman is shorter by 5 inches in height with the Golden Boy. The event is like David fighting Goliath. Matching Manny with Oscar is not a good idea.

The Mexican boxers who lost their titles to Pacquiao, "the Mexicutioner", are now celebrating because they will get their revenge thru Dela Hoya.

The title, "the Mexicutioner", was given to Pacquiao by his fans because he had beaten all the greatest Mexican boxers.

Dela Hoya is the richest boxer in the whole world. His assets are estimated to be $600million.

Filipino Ancestors I

I remember since we were in grade 1, we were taught where we came from. But as a Filipino, we were taught that Filipinos came from 3 major groups of people. I got this idea of sharing who our ancestors are since I happen to communicate with a Malaysian and an Indonesian and told them that we are related to them and they are could not believe it.

1. The first of the 3 major settlers of the Philippine islands were the Negritos. They are small in stature, have dark kinky hair, and almost black skin. The eyes of the Negritos are round but the nose are short and flat. Another name for Negritos is Aetas. The approximate height of the Aetas are 4ft to 5ft. Their lips are thicker than that of the Africans but theirs are nor protruding. The typical Aeta nose is described as broad, flat, bridgeless. The nostrils are prominently arched almost as high as the central cartilage of the nose and is invariably visible from the front.
(Good thing rhinoplasty was invented. This is also the reason why thousands of Filipinas want to have a nose job.)

The Aetas are not hairy. In fact, some of them do not have hair in the armpits. Their hands are small but the feet are remarkably large.

It is believed that the Negritos who came to the Philippines did not come from Africa but from Papua New Guinea.

This is what we were taught and I hope no one would get offended.

Diseases in Gyms and Health Spas

When we talk of spas and gym, we think of health enthusiasts sweating their way to being fit, stronger and vibrant people.

There are many health benefits that can be enjoyed when one has a very active lifestyle.

But we should be aware that gyms and spas are not very clean places.

There are some diseases that we can get from gyms and health spas like:

1. athlete's foot - always protect your feet from the floor. We can never tell if someone who walked on the floor you were walking has athlete's foot, unless we smell the feet of everyone in the place hahahahah.

2. plantar warts - do not go around the shower room and locker room walking barefoot.
Bring your own slippers and never borrow from anyone.

2. colds - breath through your nose and not with your mouth.
The nose is effective in trapping bacterias in the air, due to the small hairs that we have inside our nose called 'cilia'

4. herpes!!! - it can be passed on from one infected person to another through the use of gym mats.

Before using the mats in the gym or any other gym equipments, make sure that you spray it first with sanitizer.

Do not wipe the mats with your own towel because the virus and bacteria could cling on to your towel, then to your face. (there are some people who have weeping wounds and we do not know if the watery substance from their wound came in contact with the chairs or mats or gym equipments.

Sanitize each hands after using each piece of gym equipment.

Use disposable towelettes to clean off the machines.

Go to the gym when there are less people so as to minimize risks catching of any types of illnesses.
