Michael Jackson turned 50

Who would have thought that the kid below was Michael Jackson 40years ago?

I told my son that Michael was Black, and my son got shocked.

Reports said that Michael has vitiligo, and that is the reason why the color of his complexion changed. But maybe it was gluthathione...?

Run, Mickey Mouse, Run!

In Cambodia, rat meat is eaten because of the soaring price of beef.

The price of beef is 20,000 riel per kg, whereas, the price of rat meat is around 5,000 riel ($1.28) only from 1,200 riel last year. The rat meat's price quadrupled due to inflation and high demand.

It is reported that most of the rats are being caught by kids, and they are happy to make some money for them and their family.

The rats are being caught when fleeing to higher ground from flooded areas of the lower Mekong Delta, thus, making it easier for villagers to catch it and sell to markets.

The rats are cooked with garlic and some spices.

It is not only the Cambodians who eat it, but also the Vietnamese living in the border of Cambodia and Vietnam. It is estimated that Cambodia supplied more than a ton of live rats a day to Vietnam.

Rats are also eaten widely in Thailand, while a state government in eastern India this month encouraged its people to eat rats in an effort to battle soaring food prices and save grain stocks.

($1 = 3,900 riel)

Rare Harry Potter Book

Before "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" became famous, JK Rowling had published 500 "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" book. It was the 1st ed. that was printed in Bloomsbury, in 1997.

The exceptionally rare book will be up for auction at Dominic Winter Book Auction and the starting bid is £1000-1500.

Large numbers of the 500 copies of the initial print was distributed in libraries, and therefore the number in current circulation is very small indeed, with copies in pristine condition virtually unheard of.

"Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" has sold an estimated 120 million copies worldwide. As of January 2008, the book is number twelve on the list of best-selling books of all time, and is the third best-selling non-religious, non-political work of fiction of all time.

iLASIK For Eyes

People from different sectors are opening up their eyes to see the wonders of LASIK technology. Having perfect vision is important in our day to day existence.

The Department of Defense and NASA made a research on how to improve the eyes of their military personnel, who were always in physical demanding situations. And it was revealed that the personnel had achieved 20/20 vision.

The modern LASIK of today is now known as the iLASIK Procedure which uses two kinds of lasers instead of just one. The procedure is safe and proven to be painless. What is great is that you can have perfect vision without needing eyeglasses or contact lens.

Having 20/20 vision could be life-changing and so, many are looking for more LASIK information.

The LASIK process only takes 5minutes or less on each eye. The first procedure is getting individual blueprint of your eyes and this blueprint is used to drive your laser correction and is what gives you a truly customized result. Then, a laser is used to make a thin flap on your eyes, but you will not feel a thing because you will be given an anesthetic drop. A second laser would then be used on your eyes to correct your cornea, and that is it.

Manny Pacquiao Vs. Oscar Dela Hoya

It is confirmed!

Oscar Dela Hoya from Mexico, will fight Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines, on Dec. 6.

60% of the earnings for the fight will go to the Golden Boy and 40% for Pacman. Win or lose, Pacman will also receive $15million.

Pacman said in an official statement that, “I have agreed in principle to accept the December 6 fight against Oscar De La Hoya. This will be the toughest test in my boxing career because of the reach and height advantage of my esteemed opponent, aside from his great boxing skills. This fight however will not be a walk-in-the-park for Oscar De a Hoya. Boxing fans will see the same fire and intensity which they have witnessed in my previous fights. I will frustrate the desire of Oscar De La Hoya to avenge the defeats of the great Mexican boxers who lost to me.

He also added, "I am dedicating this forthcoming fight to my countrymen and all the boxing fans all over the world."

"The Golden Boy" Dela Hoya told in the interview that he will beat Pacman and the Mexicans will be proud of him being the only one who could destroy Pacman. “I would love to get revenge for all Mexicans who’ve fought against Manny. If you ask me that would be my choice, because he’s considered pound for pound champion of the world, and we can meet half ways, and make a big fight out of it. Manny holds that mythical title now, so all right prove it! He’s exciting, he’s strong, he’s fast. I believe the odds came out at two to one, so why not?”

When asked whether he thought Pacquiao was turning down a golden opportunity Oscar responded lightning fast: “Oh absolutely. It’s a huge opportunity and not only monetarily wise, but exposure, because the whole world will be watching this fight.“

147lbs. will be the official weight for both boxers on Dec. The height of Dela Hoya is 5ft10in against Pacman's 5ft6in.

First Beauty Contest for Nuns - Canceled

The first beauty contest for nuns is now canceled.

Italian priest, Antonio Rungi, said he was misunderstood by most people when he said he wanted to hold a contest for nuns. He said that he only wanted to erase the stereotype of what other people believe that nuns are old and dull.

He had wanted to hold the contest online on his internet blog, but he changed his mind after his superiors expressed their displeasure of the idea. The Catholic authorities thought that it was more of a physical thing, but Father Rongi was thinking about something more complete, like being beautiful inside and out. He added that he intended to show also the good works of the nuns, their education and health care, as well, and their dedication to their vocation. He believed that by drawing the society's attention to nuns, they would be appreciated more.

He got the idea from the nuns who suggested it to him.

Harry Potter Casts Spell On Hari Puttar

The maker of the movie “Harry Potter”, is suing the production company, Mirchi Movies, who produced “Hari Puttar”, which is an upcoming Indian movie. Warner Bros. feels that the Indian movie is banking on the name of Harry Potter, because of its similarity in the title.

The gist of the movie is somewhat like “Home Alone”, which was starred by Macaulay Caulkin back in 1990.

The Indian movie was set to be released on September 12, but the case is now being summoned at the Bombay High Court, whereby, Warner Bros. wants the court to stop the movie from being shown in theaters.

Lies

Are there still real people out there? Why are there so many pretentious humans claiming to be somebody when they are not? Do they want people to like them? Honestly, I would say no. People are not dumb and the truth will be known.

Liars want to impress others. But, are they successful? The answer again is a big NO. Do they think that they have fooled people believing their lies and make up stories? No again.

It is so sad that liars tend to believe they can outwit other people. They believe that people are so foolish that they would believe everything that a liar says.

Liars may feel a bit happy for thinking that outsmarting would eventually lead them to something so wonderful and exciting. But that feeling won’t last because that is just about it.

Why don’t they embrace the truth? By accepting and embracing what is real may help them achieve 90% of their goals, whereby, lying to others would get them nowhere. Why would you think that people will accept you, if you yourself, do not accept your flaws?

Ricky Martin - A Mom or Dad?

Ricky Martin is now a proud father to twin boys through a surrogate mother.

Ricky, 36year old hunk who hails from Puerto Rico, is now a proud dad but the surrogate mother's name was not mentioned in the news. He said that he will be stepping out of the limelight to be a devoted father to his two sons.

There are rumors that Ricky is gay, but he is neither confirming nor denying it. He used to date Mexican TV host Rebeca de Alba in 2005 but they split up.

Ricky started singing at the age of 13 and was a member of an all boys singing group, Menudo.

Is Ricky another Michael Jackson? It is known that Ricky also has campaigned for years to fight for children's rights. He has established the Ricky Martin Foundation to "advocate for the welfare of children around the world" and has traveled around the globe raising awareness of child-related issues as his role as Goodwill Ambassador to UNICEF (United Nations' Children's Fund).

Fight

Fight is what we should do in this "dog-eat-dog" world. Fight not with other people but with ourselves and push life into its limits.

The Olympic delegates have fought hard. They did not want to win for the gold only. They want to win to prove to themselves and to other people that if they do their best, they could win.

Sometimes we may loose, sometimes we may win. But what is essential is that we fought hard. "Never give up", that is what they always say. And they are right. As we mature in this world, we came face to face with different obstacles in life. There are lots of people cheering for us, like the people who love us. Are we going to let them down?

The photoshow below are the examples of defeat, agony and triumph of athletes. We are all athletes because we race to succeed in life.

To share your triumph with others, you may add the slideshow from Roxio online to your blogs or websites using your different photos. Seeing pictures in a photoshow could make a difference especially when it is made through Roxio.

It is true that simple picture can become a real work of art through Roxio online.

Friend

What is a friend? There are so many people who pretended to be our friends but the truth is they are not. In my case, maybe I have not really known them. Some of my friends have lived in my apartment. Some have been good. But when the times are rough, where are they now? The saying is true that there are so-called "fair-weathered" friends.

All I can say is that a true friend will stay with you no matter what. We cannot choose our relatives but with friends, we can.

My readers, it is good that you have so many friends, but could you really tell the fakes from the real ones?

Black Princess and The Frog

I am a huge fan of Disney cartoons ever since I was a kid. I noticed that almost all the lead star of the fairy tale cartoon stories are Caucasian. The good thing is that recently, Disney have created an African-American lead star for their upcoming animated musical.

In the animation movie, The Princess and the Frog, the princess is Black and from New Orleans, and this is the first time Disney have had a black princess as the lead character. This is also Disney’s first 2D film since Home on the Range in 2004. Additionally, Disney has now made the prince in the story a man of Middle Eastern heritage and "revised" the race of the villain.

I would say it is about time they feature a Black princess. The Princess will be voiced by Anika Noni.

Operation Mankind

In our life, there are things we treasure the most. Mind you, I referring to things and not a person. Of course we treasure our love ones. There are also many games and different applications that are installed in my cellphone. I can also use it as a calculator, edit photos and all.

Multi Media Everywhere

Watching television is one of the favorite past time of people all over the world, may it be young or old, rich or poor. Television is very addictive. It is hard not to get hooked on TV because the programs that are being shown are like hypnotizing us.

Since TV is so famous, there have been many innovations and inventions that had been made so that programs could be reached by millions of viewers. In the Engauge Digital Blog, the writer said in his Golden Age post that many people are now hooked on the information highway, and so, TV have also been interconnected and introduced on the internet. While surfing, people could watch TV at the same time. Or if people does not want to see ads on TV, they just open up their PC, watch the shows there and fast-forward the commercials.

Many of us know that by this time, more and more TV networks have been placing their programs over the internet like NBC, USA, TBS, and ABC.

Truly, the Internet is slowly hugging all the limelight, from snail mails to emails, from books to ebooks, from DVD to downloadable music and now TV programs.

I really can say that there is a lot of avenue to know what is happening in our world today.

Inner Child

Your Inner Child Is Sad

You're a very sensitive soul.

You haven't grown that thick skin that most adults have.

Easily hurt, you tend to retreat to your comfort zone.

You don't let many people in - unless you've trusted them for a long time.

Invest to Save

Women have been an instrument for carrying babies inside their womb. And, women can also be an instrument to save lives just by sharing a small part of them to humanity.

Scientists have researched About the Science on how to prolong lives of people and to eradicate diseases. The good thing is that they have found a new way on how to preserve lives. We have been introduced to the umbilical cord, that it can help treat diseases. There is a better way and that is C'elle. Menstrual stem cells have been researched to demonstrate its ability to differentiate into other cell types such as heart muscle, cartilage, nerve and bone stem cells, and that is where C'elle comes in.

C'elle is an exclusive and revolutionary service that provides women with the unique opportunity to collect and preserve vital stem cells that can be harvested from the body's menstrual fluid during the menstrual cycle. Up to now, menstrual blood has been tagged as “dirty” and that typically been discarded as unsanitary waste. However, exciting new research shows that menstrual fluid contains self-renewing stem cells that can be easily collected, processed and cryo-preserved for potential cellular therapies that may emerge in the future. Research suggests that not only the donor could benefit from this process, but also family members who are genetically related to the donor, like her parents, sibling or child.
C_elle_kit_image
C’elle cells can be acquired during the woman’s monthly period by using a medical-grade silicone menstrual cup, available in the kit together with easy-to-follow instructions when ordered, and then simply send it to the Cryo-Cell laboratory for processing and storage. Please take note that collecting menstrual stem cells is non-invasive, so it is not painful and that it can be done in private at home.

As we all know, famous actor Michael J. Fox has Parkinson’s disease. He would have been treated already from the disease if someone close to him, like a sister, has donated stem cell.

I would like to inform you that C'elle can be used to treat Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, Heart Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and even Diabetes.

Check out C'elle Client Testimonial and see for yourself how it changed their lives.

If you really care for yourself and your loved ones, invest in yourself today so that you may also save theirs.

Septuplets

Kids are God's gift to us. They are our inspiration to do good in life.

In Egypt, a woman gave birth to septuplets by Caesarean operation.! It is really amazing. The 27year old woman said that she only saw her 4 boys and 3 girls on television but she is already excited to hold them and breast some of them.

She admitted she took fertility drugs to produce a baby boy.

The doctor said that the babies are fine. He added that he had decided to perform the Caesarian operation on the mother on the 8th month of her pregnancy due to pressure on her kidneys.

The government of Egypt said that they ill supply diapers for the babies until they are 2years old.

Flirting Hair

Some people have the wrong notion of what Victory Hair means. They thought that it is a kind of hairdo which is very sleek or well-combed, but they are wrong. Victory Hair is like when a girl goes out, her hair is pony-tailed and well-kempt. But then, she met a gorgeous hunk and they went to a club, and then drank a little and when they got tipsy, the girl started to feel confident and unabashed to show her emotions. In the process, she let down her hair and flipped it over and over. The guy did not waste time and they went to a private place. And then something wonderful happened. The next day, their hair was all messed up! Now, that is Victory Hair.

Notice that the girl was starting to achieve Victory Hair when she got relaxed. She became flirty. Flirting is a form of human interaction between two people, expressing sexual interest and flirting varies from conversation, body language, or brief physical contact. It may be one-sided or reciprocated.

There are different kinds of flirting and the familiar ones are eye contact, batting eyelashes, Protean signals like touching one's hair, casual touches, smiling sweetly, winking, flattering the opposite gender, playing “footsie”, coyness, and the most common modern tactic nowadays is, hold your breath, online chat.

I would suggest you play the Ultimate Flirting Championship game by Extreme Style by VO5 below, to hone your skill in flirting. You may add this game in your own blog or social network so that you may share to others some of the “techniques”. You can never tell what “lines” the girl you like would buy. Bronze Medal Stripped off

Swedish wrestler Ara Abrahamian was stripped off his bronze medal because he discarded it on the mat where he wrestled with an Italian earlier. He was also disqualified from the tournament in Beijing.
Ara Abrahamian left his bronze medal on the mat.

The officials of the Olympics said that he violated two rules of the Olympic charter, one which bans any sort of demonstrations and another which demands respect to all Olympic athletes and Olympic officials. They also added that the wrestler had insulted other athletes and the Olympic movement due to his unbecoming behavior which is also contrary to the spirit of fair play.

Abrahamian never expressed his regret or was being sorry for what he did. His medal was the third one to be stripped off in Beijing. The others were due to failing doping test and doping violations.

The Princess's Ride

Her Royal Hotness, Princess Zara is the eldest granddaughter of HM Queen Elizabeth II. As an equestrienne, she owns a beautiful and tough horse and since lady luck is beside her, she might as well own a Land Rover.

In the video Horsing Around, you would see a crazy, arrogant guy, maligning the pretty princess, telling her that all she did was sit on the horse when there is competition and horse does all the work. The elegant princess just smiled and the horse sneezed at haughty guy. The scene was so hilarious that the guy even had a taste of what the horse expelled.

The commercial tells us that the rider is as significant as the thing he is riding, because the rider is the one who chose the horse to be his own.
Land_rover_eventing
Princess Zara is the reigning Eventing World Champion who won the World Championship in Aachen. What is good also is that Land Rover is proud to help the equestrian sport wherever they can, from the British Eventing Team, to the Burghley Horse Trials and the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

Robo-Rat

There is a new robot on the block. I am referring to the robot that is powered by the brain cells of a rat.

Robo-rat

The 6inch robot is wirelessly connected to the brain of the rat which is stored in the laboratory of the University of Reading. The brain’s signal, which was cultured neurons that are linked on a circuit board, This then could make the robot steer from left to right and can avoid objects that is in its path. So it is suffice to say that the neurons of the rat actually control the robot.

Rat's neurons

The scientists are now hoping that they could teach the robo-rat to familiarize itself with its surroundings.

Some people think that the robo-rat is creepy, but, this is a breakthrough for individuals who are looking for ways on how to treat brain diseases like Alzheimer’s.

Kampai Banzai!

I and my son are always together and sometimes we are bored doing the same old routine everyday like watching a boring show on TV. One day, I was surfing the web, I found this wonderful, funny site. ScreenLife Games is at it again. They launched a new Banzai game. Check it out:

Banzai is a very exciting DVD betting game that can be played by 2 or more people. The game is based on the real clips from the TV show "Banzai!".

The objective of the game is that the players race to fill the betting bowl with fake sushi pieces using only chopsticks. The winner controls the betting in the game, but the DVD controls the outcome. If the player wins all the sushi, he wins the game. To make your parties livelier and fun, you can buy this game because this is one of a kind betting game which your family and friends would surely enjoy.

You can order the game online and a game DVD, four sushi bowls, one community betting bowl, twenty lettered cards (for betting), one hundred assorted sushi pieces, four Pairs of Chopsticks, four headbands (Hachimaki) and the set of game rules will be delivered to you.

You may even download a wallpaper for your PC like the photo below.

Banzai can be played in your laptop or on TV using a DVD player. In my case, my son and I watched and played using my laptop to bet who will win on the stunts being shown.

Tako, the mascot of “Banzai” is so cool he even has his own MySpace account at www.myspace.com/takotheocto.

Lip Sync Olympic Controversy

The Beijing Olympics 2008 is full of controversy. Some say that the "footprints" was not real fireworks, but a computer-generated visual effects. Another thing was condoms were given to athletes to protect them from sexually transmitted diseases, i.e., if they want to do the "deed" with other Olympic delegates.

The recent controversy involving the Olympic events was that the child who sang the song "Ode To Motherland" was only acting as if it was her voice that was being heard by people. Lin Miaoke, a nine-year-old Chinese girl who performed in front of the billions of viewers worldwide, does not have a good singing voice. Instead, it was the 7-year-old Yang Peiyi, who actually sang during the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2008. The officials thought that Peiyi's face was "not suitable" for the Olympics opening ceremony.

The kid who has a good singing voice...

The kid who has a pretty face...

The Olympic officials decided to let the prettier girl's face be seen by people and let the not so attractive one sing the song because they want the event to be perfect.

Unexpected Victory Hair

One time, when I was still in college, I and my classmates were wearing school uniforms when we went to a mall to eat lunch. Three guys went to where we were seated and told us that our school uniforms looked familiar. They mentioned a girl’s name and asked if we knew the girl. We shook our heads and went back doing our thing. The guys did not left and asked for our names and phone numbers. After a month, I saw one of the guys in the dorm of my friend and they both have Victory Hair!

Guys would really do anything just to get the woman they like, and that is not possible if the guys had never practiced their one-liner.

If you are curious if you could really get the girl you like, click on theUltimate Flirting Championship which was sponsored by Extreme Style by VO5, to check your abilities to make the opposite gender swoon.

Chinese Sharpei

This is my all time favorite picture of a dog. He is so cute and charming. You will not know that he is a chinese sharpei unless you really look closely. I thought before that he was also a blanket.

Wrist Released

As a blogger, though we usually stay at home, it is important to take care of our health. We sit for hours in front of the computer, typing anything that we can think of. But don’t you know that when one types on the keyboard, his wrist should be in a proper angle so as not to have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome? Maybe the name of the illness is not familiar to you, but it has been an illness of the olden days.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is defined as medical condition where in the nerve that runs down from the arm to the forearm, is compressed at the wrist. This condition can then lead to pain, swelling of the wrist and the weakening of the arm.

The first sign of this illness is the numbness of the fingers especially the thumb, index, and middle fingers. This condition is often painful, and if not treated, a “carpal tunnel release" surgery is recommended.

The good news is that this condition can be treated only by using a carpal tunnel relief that is called the Smart Glove.

Imak

IMAK designed and perfected the Smart Glove which helps prevent and relieve carpal tunnel syndrome, increases comfort and circulation, ensures ergonomically correct wrist position, and cushions and protects the underside of the wrist, including the pisiform bone.
