When we talk of spas and gym, we think of health enthusiasts sweating their way to being fit, stronger and vibrant people.
There are many health benefits that can be enjoyed when one has a very active lifestyle.
But we should be aware that gyms and spas are not very clean places.
There are some diseases that we can get from gyms and health spas like:
1. athlete's foot - always protect your feet from the floor. We can never tell if someone who walked on the floor you were walking has athlete's foot, unless we smell the feet of everyone in the place hahahahah.
2. plantar warts - do not go around the shower room and locker room walking barefoot.
Bring your own slippers and never borrow from anyone.
2. colds - breath through your nose and not with your mouth.
The nose is effective in trapping bacterias in the air, due to the small hairs that we have inside our nose called 'cilia'
4. herpes!!! - it can be passed on from one infected person to another through the use of gym mats.
Before using the mats in the gym or any other gym equipments, make sure that you spray it first with sanitizer.
Do not wipe the mats with your own towel because the virus and bacteria could cling on to your towel, then to your face. (there are some people who have weeping wounds and we do not know if the watery substance from their wound came in contact with the chairs or mats or gym equipments.
Sanitize each hands after using each piece of gym equipment.
Use disposable towelettes to clean off the machines.
Go to the gym when there are less people so as to minimize risks catching of any types of illnesses.

I think I might think about buying my own workout equipment now.
We can never tell if those people who use exercise equipments in the gyms do not have communicable diseases.
Good tips. The gym is a hotbed of germs. We touch and handle the same weights, sit on the same mats, and all use the same machines, just like passing the same cup from person to person to drink from.
Think of it that way, and you'll be more careful! ;)
