It is really creepy and it gave me goosebumps but a US woman named Rosemary Alvarez had a live worm crawling in her brain.
At first, Rosemary began experiencing numbness in her left arm and blurred vision. The doctor thought that she had brain tumor but when they opened her head, the doctor was shocked to see a live worm burrowing through Rosemary's brain.
Dr. Peter Nakaji, the neurosurgeon of Rosemary, became worried because they cannot seem to know the cause of her illness. He said that “It's something down in her brain stem which is as deep in the brain as you can be."
The doctors who operated on Rosemary were expecting to remove tumors but they were wrong. They found a live worm.
As of this day, no one knows how on earth the worm got into Rosemary's head. The doctors said that maybe it was something she ate like undercooked pork.
Rosemary's advice to people is to "Wash hands before eating."

It's quite worrying to think that this poor woman may have picked up the worm through someone else not following basic food hygiene.
That is amazing I have never heard of a worm in someones brain.
Through food? Is that possible? How did the worm survive in the stomach and eventually get into the brain? I have previously heard of a few cases of spider or worm in the ear; this is the first time I heard of worm in the brain. Just glad that the doctor has found it.
From what I know, pigs are not very clean animals. Unlike cows, pigs like to waddle in mud. Beef can be eaten raw but not pork. There are parasites that live in the meat of the pork and if it is not cooked well, they could still live and thrive in the stomach. How it got into her brain? It is a microorganism that could travel in the different parts of our body. It just so happens that it traveled to her brain and matured there eowwwwww! Imagine a worm eating your brain aaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!! It is like a horror movie.
Do you know that all of us have worms inside our tummy? Even our pets have worms inside their body that is why we deworm them.
I remembered when my sister took medicine for deworming. She screamed inside the bathroom sittng on the toilet bowl. She pulled the worm from her behind. It was white and fat ugh!
now who want to eat sushi? :D
OH MY GOD! I can't imagine this!
That poor lady must have gone through hell with this thing inside her.
Glad they got it out.
I will definitely be more careful and wash things even more thoroughly than I already do before eating them!
OMG! A worm! What had you been digging!
Hmm... in the neighboring Ilocos region we have what we call "itag" where this is actually a meat with a lot of worms. This is a usual delicacy here.
But there was no reported case yet on a live worm found on someone's head.
